Old news but I just found it:
http://www.chicoer.com/news/ci_11403147

Basically, California is looking at the possibility of issuing IOU's as tax returns for 2009. They don't have the money and the people will be issued IOU's for money that's already theirs!!!! At the very least, the people should accumulate interest on there money like any other place that loans out money.

What I don't understand is how they keep electing the same people into office. Obviously they aren't doing something right.

I don't even wanna think about it that is so dumb. I work hard for my money and what I have. I make sure I have enough and DON"T have to borrow. These **** borrow and they don't have to pay it back. God that is dumb.

You would think with all the celebrities that live there and pay taxes on their $300,000 homes California wouldn't be in a money shortage.

My uncle lives in San Diego. It's a nice place to visit but I couldn't live there. everything is expensive and too liberal.

Indeed. My parents house is worth more than 300k here in Wisconsin. And when we were in California on vacation we just happen to drive by a house that was about the same size and age as their house. I don't remember the actual price but it was in the millions.

Damnnnnnnnnn lol
I guess that's kinda of a perk for living in a very depressed state/area -- my brother's house (a very nice, 3 BR house with a HUGE lot) for $65k.

Good lord. See my parents house was built in 2000 and is a pretty big 3 bedroom 2.5 bath with finished basement. The living room has 18 foot walls going all the way up. Very nice house. And ya they used to be quite a bit over 3. With the terrible housing market they it is just a hair under 3.

Ya my house is over 425 - 450k. Not because it is really all that big but more because of location. I am .25 miles to the interstate, 1 mile from town and virtually only have 5 neighbors. Not something you can hardly find n ow a days.

All the ppl in my neighborhood have an agreement where if 1 of us moves out all the others would buy that property so we can literally control who lives around us.

It is easy for a state to spend all of its money, infrastructure and maintainence alone costs a bundle let alone expanding and bettering road systems. aside from that, you have programs that are funded by the state that if removed, chances are as a resident you be pretty **** and would only realize the benefit if taken away. this is a general statement for any state. cali is trying to pioneer green standrads, if they dont, who will? things start somewhere and often cost a bundle to start but benefit forever. Houses are one thing, big whoop, 3 million dollar homes, wahh, there arent enough high priced estates to help pay for the whole state, its fricken the size of like new york state down to fricken florida, all the high priced homes are in certain areas, what about the rest, the rich shouldnt have to carry the poor, chances are the money to become rich was done so with a large risk, why should they be treated more harshly?

Celebrities in $300,000 home in California??? LMAO biglaugh.gif

That would be a CHEAP house where a poor person lives. Which only goes to show how bad of a job the California elected officials are doing. They have a huge amount of income (most likely the most of any state) and they are doing the worst economic wise. Just shows terrible budgeting.

land isnt cheap, 300k for a few acres is nice, in northern nj, not in the sticks, half an acre with a house is a minimum of about 500-600k
