ok i have been a member at SG for along time and now i have come here for help (they are prolly sick of me asking question)...i ordered 2 sets of cathodes and a yellow UB kit from here (platinum series) anyways...im looking for a very detailed installation guide...mainly for the cathodes...like will i need a fuse...and im gonna put a differnet switch on it so which wire goes where...that kinda stuff....sorry for being to novice on this stuff...im 16 and addicted to neons already...i love the things...but wait til i get started on my audio icon_biggrin.gif

thanks for the help if you will give it...
Josh C

PS...o and i think i will prolly need more wire...so what gauge will i need for the different things...i have a '04 Dodge neon by the way if that helps at all!!! thanks[/quote]

neonstyl will prob be the most help for you for the fact that he has a neon also. but as for just the basics. battery-inlinefuse- 18 ga wire in to a switch- to the power wire of cathode tranny. then the other wire off the tranny goes to a good ground. sorry if its vague im headed to work icon_cry.gif

when the line comes off the battery, you put a fuse holder with a fuse in it and then from there to wire goes to the switch. You can get fuse holders at any automotive store or even at walmart.

there are many types. There are tube fuses and razor fuses. I perfer razor fuses cause it's easier to replace them (my personal preference). a 10amp fuse would be fine to handle you current neons and if you add more.
Don't feel bad man, i didn't know anything about this stuff and the only way you learn is by asking questions. i came here because at least here you don't get flamed by the boarders, unlike most people on streetglow. If you need any more help feel free to PM me or IM me. Screenname is StrtGlowerZM180

ATC blade fuses are nice: User posted image

They have mini's, maxi's, and regular sizes. They come in like 3, 5, 7.5 10, all the way up to 35 or so amps.

This is a sealed ATC fuse holder: User posted image

WooT!! Another Dodge Neon on the boards icon_biggrin.gif !! Wassup, man ?!?! As far as this board compared to SG's board... well, lets just say people actually help you over here icon_lol.gif haha. Anyways, check THIS HOW-TO for how I installed my neon underbody kit on my first-generation (1998) Dodge Neon... its may not be exactly the same for your newer 2004, but you should get the general idea of what you have to do to install it from that atleast.

Also, check out the Neonspeed Forums for a wealth of Dodge Neon -specific knowledge and good people to help you out with your Dodge Neon. Just register on the forums there and say Hi! icon_biggrin.gif

Now, for the wiring diagrams... PTCruzr used to have some really awesome diagrams... not sure if they are still lying around on here somewhere ??

Anyways, here are a couple that I have done...

Well, I haven't messed with these cathodes myself. However, I believe what he is saying is that the other 2 wires are simply taped off and left unused. The two wires you have remaining on the cathode are your power & ground. The "third" wire for a switch is only if you are using a three-prong or lighted switch. In that case, the third prong is a ground for the switch itself, simply run a length of wire from that prong to a ground point.

Weekends are typically slower on any message board... people go out and do things, hehe icon_lol.gif . Just wait until tonight, I'm sure db or someone else can help you out further.
