My girlfriend drives a 02 Mitsubishi Ecplipse Spyder GT. I am trying to install halos for her new projectors, and I cannot find a way to get through the firewall for the life of me! Anyone have an ecplise and can help me out?

usually the steering column rubber gasket/gromet or around the pedals are the easiest for a small single wire

It's always different per car, most of the time larger grommets for wiring bundles are good, sometimes the throttle cable has a large enough opening for smaller wire sets...

i worked on a 02 eclipse one time and if i remember correctly on the drivers side there will be a flat spot on the firewall next to the fender. i drilled a hole with a unibit and popped in a gromet i drilled it from underneath the dash and i believe there are gromets underneath the dash also that might give acess to the firewall not are not used prior to the stock setup... hope i helped icon_neutral.gif

If you drill through the firewall I hope you paint the bare metal so it doesn't rust later.

If you are running large power wire drilling is necessary ... small halo wire can be squeked thru any grommet/opening that is there
Hell you could even use the wireless controler if you want

A lot of people that don't want to drill and can't find a hole just run wires through the fender area.

I've done it before on older cars, but I made sure to use protective loom and tape to keep it in place. The last thing I wanted was any wire covering rubbing off and shorting out.

If I ran into that situation again today, I would just drill a new hole.

I ran 2 gauge wire through the main wire look on my friends Jeep. It all depends on the vehicle.

Yeah, I looked around for a good while and couldn't find a decent spot. I tried going through the fender but I couldn't get the wire through...too much in the way.

The drill I have is a Black & Decker from Wal-Mart so I don't think it will be able to drill through the metal.

Sure you'll be able to,it's only sheet metal, just make sure you take your time and use a sharp drill bit. icon_smile.gif
