Well, somebody busted my back window at school and nobody saw anything, not even the Parking lot lady 10 yards from my vehicle. I want to get an alarm so that when people get near my car or to bump it i want it to go off. But, i do not know which are good and bad. Aybody have any they would recommend? I want it to send signals to the controller as well. But does it have to be a certain one? Will one even work on my blazer? Kinda want one with tilt sensors to, just so i dont lose my wheels

Viper with a proximity sensor should be all you'd need

Viper Alarm systems are VERY good. My s10 got broken into and I installed one of their systems. The one that when your alarm is out of earshot...the keyfob vibrates and lets you know your alarm is going off...

no alarm comes with proximity sensor unless they have a bundle special. you have to buy it separately from the alarm. just ask the shop that you also want that sensor it should be like 100 bucks or less. at least that's what we and some other shops are charging in Texas.

Another +1 for Viper with the pager. While I have a slightly older model and the pager's range isn't that great, it is good enough to tell me if my alarm goes off while I'm in my apartment.

i have an alarm by a company called autopage. its basically the same thing as viper. 2 way remote, tilt and shock, comes with all the basics and there are upgrades you can get too
$200 installed at one of my local shops. had it for a year and works great can never go wrong with viper though |

I forgot to mention i have a Viper 5900 also which is last years model of the 1 mile range. My sensitivty is all the way down and it doesnt go off for **** so if you do get a Viper never turn it all the way down. I guess i will go fix that now that i have been reminded about it but i would definetly look into a Viper.

I have always used Directed Electronics. I had an old DEI Amp that was absolutely insane.
But DEI (Directed) makes Viper, Clifford, Python, and a few other brand names. http://www.directed.com/ IMO, any type of alarm made by Directed is going to be awesome. |

Viper installed by certified Dealer= Lifetime Warranty ... Mines running since 97 ...
The prox detector gives a warning chirp first ... unless they move away then it will trigger alarm ... mines set up that if the windows /sunroof is open and the alarm is set it will roll yp the windows and shut the roof (great at car shows ) |
