I have an image that is 17M.
It is 2816 X 2112 pixels. I need to convert it to 695 X 217 via photoshop. I can't seem to get it to be exact when I change the numbers. Does anyone have thoughts or other ideas/ways to do this? Much appreciated |

Open the image, create two Guides at the dimensions needed, then Transform the layer and move it around until you get something satisfactory. Probably end up cropping some off, but at least you can decide what's important and what isn't.
After you hit Transform, hold shift to keep the proportions when clicking and dragging a corner. |

You can also set final pixel size for cropping. Move the crop around until you have what you want cropped and it should be exactly what size you specify.

That's what I would do. When you select the crop tool, there's boxes at the top where you can specify the dimensions you want to crop to. Be sure to put 'px' on there so it knows what units you mean. |

The problem with that, guys, is that he has an image that's over 2000 pixels. If he crops it at the size he wants, he'll be cutting off a LOT of the original image.

Actually no. You sound unfamiliar with how the cropping works in photoshop if you set a pixel size that you want the final crop to be. It works almost as a crop and resize at the same time. You could "crop" a picture with the final pixel dims set at 400x400 and select the whole picture (cropping nothing essentially) and when you hit enter, the picture will be 400x400 |

It's Aken, I wrote that. I guess I don't use that feature often enough. I assumed that when you put in dimensions, it was limited to that size, so when you tried stretching it on a 2000px document, it'd only go so far.
