3.0 ships this summer for free. $10 for iPod Touch users

Been watching the live coverage at gdgt.

So far they have confirmed, landscape type almost everywhere (mail sms etc). A sweet copy paste function that works across apps, MMS!, more calendar syncing (like google and yahoo), and Voice memo.

They keep pumping out new stuff by the minute.


While I was creating the thread this popped up,

“We added search to our contacts — our customers told us they loved this. We’ve added search to all our key apps… including mail. To, from, headers, body… if the message isn’t on the iPhone, you can continue your search on the server via Exchange.” Also adding search in calendar."

I was telling aken this the other day when I was playing with his Iphone.

I am an "i" hater. Never liked anything apple made. I guess it was all too trendy for me. But I have to say the Iphone does work incredibly well. The touch screen works awesome compared to any other touch screen I have used out there. While I will never own one, it is indeed a very cool phone. And with all the stuff they are adding it is just that much cooler.

Finally I see you can send photos, audio clips and google map direction links all through an MMS chat. Just like AIM sweet.

**** apple. Why do I have to pay $10 when others get it free? Just because I don't feel like paying 80 a month for a data package I'll never use.

10 dollars is not a lot of money at all.

Meh... I just went through all the features and the only one I would want/use is the shake to shuffle for my Touch... That'd come in handy when I'm driving and don't want to take my eyes off the road...

Not worth $10 for me though, I'll just stick to trying to control it without looking down lol

I jailbroke within 20 minutes of owning the phone. I'll jailbreak 3.0 as well.

I'm really excited. My spidey sense says that they wouldn't have made such a massively public demo if they didn't release this very soon (I'm hoping a month or 2!)

I pay ~$90 a month for my iPhone.

I cannot wait for this update. Awesomeness. Glad to see Apple listening to their supporters, cause I see pretty much everything I've really wanted being in this release.

NOW I just pray that 1) their servers don't crap out something awful from all the updates happening at the same time, and 2) there isn't some bug that screws any of my stuff up, lol.

I don't know how much I pay. But it's probably around $90 per iPhone. I lump my dish network, dsl, home phone, and both iPhones into one bill.

Even if they wanted to charge $10 to iPhone users for the upgrade, I'd be happy to pay it...but of course, with jailbreak you don't have to.

I'd definitely pay $10 for this update.

I haven't/won't do 2.2. That's useless.
