They are both DVC 2 ohm, I was thinking either the Hifonics Colossus or the ZX2500.1 kicker. Which amp do yall think i should get? Thanx.

/agree

If you HAD to only pick from the two options you listed, I would say the Hifonics for the extra punch and 2/1 design.

*Quick advice, you are not running your stock alternator for this setup are you?

I am actually in Iraq right now and I am getting a new car when I get home, where could I find a good alternator at? Also, Should I get a red top or yellow top optima battery? I want it to be my main battery for my car, not as a capacitor. I do also already have a capacitor. Thanx

Hey bud, you replied to my message about the amp I should get and you put the Sundown SAZ-3000D. Now, I had a question, the zx2500 goes to 2500 rms at 2 ohm, and the Sundown SAZ-3000D only goes to well.....

Rated power output
----RMS power, 2 ohm linkable/dual mono 6000W x 1CH
----RMS power, 1 ohm mono 3000W x 1CH
----RMS power, 2 ohm mono 1600W x 1CH
----RMS power, 4 ohm mono 800W x 1CH

Im not exactly sure what linkable/dual mono is
You can strap 2 amps together and have it treated as a single output.
But the other 2 ohm only goes up to 1600 rms. Now with 1 ohm as u see it gos up to 3000 rms, but isnt it better, or safer, to keep it at 2 ohms?
You don't "keep" an amp at a specific rating. The impedance rating is based on the voice coil and wiring configuration you chose.
would the amp last longer?
The amp is designed to be operated at those ratings. Use it properly and you will likely never have to replace it.
Sorry so long but Ive had some horrible systems and want this 1 to be right. thanx.
If you want this one to be right, you may consider different subs.

If its been changed a few times then you have other issues that need to be addressed.

Then either you are not putting a big enough alt in for your system or something else is wrong in the car.

I've got some great deals in the past from HO ~ http://www.highoutputalternator.com/index.htm

Like Iraggi they are all custom built, but unlike Iraggi, they are affordable. Plus you can get some nice finishes and any special touches you require.

Also, Sundown amps are known for being extremely high quality products. I would like to see you throw a 0.25ohm load (or even 0.5ohm) @ that Kicker amp and not have it start smoking.
