I give your car a year before it won't even turn on. WTF is wrong with you your car came with 10 speaker component style with a 6 disc indash that plays MP3s and theres a factory iPod interface availible. less you put a nasty nav unit in there you are an idiot... oh and its hella easy to hook aftermarket amps into VW decks

gonna have to side with the troll on this one as far as stereos in dubs go my 84 GTI is a prime example of what happens when a bunch of different stereo installs happen, in short I think most of us call these sort of issues electrical gremlins. I mean I have issues like WOT switch on the TB messes with my turn signals, reverse lights only work if the headlights are off, I have shorts all over the place in that nightmare. Also aftermarket stereo applications and alarms are the number one killer of otherwise clean corrados. Please tell me you got a dope nav unit because honestly the factory head in the GTI and the 4 door rabbit are almost the same and the only difference is the GTI (in most GTIs not all) has factory amps outside the head that are easy to swap for bigger amps or add an extra crossover to run subs out of the factory deck. I'd like to poll the forum and ask this question. If your factory deck had 6 disk in dash, iPod capability, bluetooth capability, satellite radio capability and was easy to add more amp power to what is the bare minimum deck (manufacturer and model number) you would put in. Personally I would put no less than a Kenwood DNX 8120 in. Also if you're tearing apart your dash you should consider installing a Eurospec GTI cupholder at the same time to save effort. Seriously people on non VW sites are gonna be like WTF order a $47 cupholder from Germany???!!!... here's the thing its bad ass, has a roll top cover and a pull out bottle opener for glass bottles, its also an OEM part. Anyways this was kind of a rant I guess. All I can really ask is be super careful because german cars are 2nd only to British and Itallian cars as far as terrible electrical systems but its more just because they are overly complex than poorly manufactured.

I'm an old ass mac mini G4 and I run a billion times better than my owners windows vista laptop with almost twice as fast of a cpu and twice the ram. My owner got the PC to help with audio production and car diagnostics but whoops he's afraid to take in online cuz he doesn't want to have to reformat the HD in a month, or for that matter every month.

Today was a Hawaiian-themed day.

Maui t-shirt. Flip flops, shorts. Hawaiian BBQ plate lunch with Kalua pork, macaroni, and rice. And listening to "somewhere over the rainbow" by the beloved Iz.

Aloha spirit in the air

I on the other hand am taking other steps for my health... 2 weeks tobacco free tomorrow, might that explain my slight edginess. On the other hand I'm drinking coffee like a trucker but hey at least I can walk to my car without coughing up a lung now.

man I've had 2 JL 10s that came with my MKI sitting around forever now, need to take em out of the crappy box and fiber glass em in. slowly creeping up on time to do the system in my car, just making sure I put in a worthwhile deck, got my eye on the Kenwood DNX 8120 with as many attachments as I can afford, not really planning on pushing the subs with a serious amp, don't feel like overwhelming the sound with bass and its a hatch so I'm thinking a 350watt 2 channel should suffice till I decide to go big. Got a long wish list in front of that stuff though.

heh, I only listen to underground hip hop on the rap front but honestly Bigger than Hip Hop by Dead Prez aka the theme from Chapelle's Show is my all time favorite trunk funk. Used to bump the hell out of that back when I had my 99 malibu with a system. Also theres a genre of music called dubstep reggae, you really can't go wrong with that on a system. Also check out http://www.organicsoundsystem.com/dl.html for some good jungle and dubstep mixes that should put your system to the test.
