I started shooting pistols in late march. was getting 8" groupings at 7yds mostly the result of anticipating recoil.

Went again in early april and tried out a few pieces:

Getting a little better. I went to another range and shot a MRI "Baby Eagle" in .40 S&W. I'm down to 3" groupings at ~7yds. (the scatter to the lower left was out at 15 yds. )

Looks great.

I need to start shooting too, to say that I at least held a gun.

I currently have these two firearms for home defense:

Springfield XD .45

I can shoot 3-4" groups at 10 yds with the XD. Very accurate and well built.

haha not gunna lie that would suck to need a gun for home defense.... my town is small enough i dont have to worry a bit about leaving the house unlocked or my keys in my car.... I have a whole cabinet of guns but thats hunting purposes only.
Want to get my ND- conceiled carriers permit tho.

I've got two targets in the car I'll post up in a minute. Shot yesterday for 4 hours with my police training program. Best scores in the class of 15. Shot the H&K SI .45 from 3, 7, and 15 yards, a Ruger .22 rifle with 25 round extended clip at a notebook paper sized target at 25 yards through iron sights, and the sniper rifles our SWAT team uses at water bottles from 55 yards. Really awesome day icon_smile.gif

I've owned both of those in the past. Wasn't a huge fan of the 500.. but I sure as hell loved my .40 XD with the 3" for carry.

I now shoot/carry a Sig P229 in a .40. I shoot about the same as with my XD, but can shoot a lot more rounds in a day because it's a more comfortable gun.. however even with the 3" barrel I was able to keep 4" grouping at 10-15yds.

Eh, there are better ones on the market, but it serves my purposes just fine. I actually had one just like it in Iraq (minus the buttstock), and really enjoyed its versitility. Its perfect for breaching, riot control, room clearing, and other close quarters shooting. It's certainly not a Benelli M4 (M1014), but you really can't beat the price that these are going for.

Part of it was the condition I bought it in.. but alot of it was in the details, the safety on the back, the breach, the angle of the factory stock. I was also picky about the remington 870..

No, I totally agree with that. For the price it's a solid investment for home defense. The beauty of a shotgun is that it takes away the guess work with aiming and god forbid you ever have to use it to defend your life.. You won't miss the money spent for it.

$320 out the door with a box of slugs.

I actually picked this one because the safety is on the back, I didn't get a chance to hold the 870 though. Oh well can't wait to shoot it next weekend.

That Benelli is a sweet ass piece of work though.

I did some shooting yesterday, was hitting a 3" group at 10 yards.

I was shooting my V. Bernardelli P8 (Italian) .380 ACP and my S&W SW-9 VE, 9mm.

I handed my dad the .380 to try and he had his thumb in the way of the slide on his first shot. Sliced his thumb wide open...enough to where he needed a couple stitches, but he just put a band aid on it icon_sad.gif
