I met a GM cooprate manager today at the dyno-tuner's shop and we got to talking about the new Camaro. He said that one of the SS models came with Red halos (as pictured below) and they were perfectly legal in all 50 states since it came from the factory. Anyone have any proof of this claim?

well if the produce the car from the factory that way i think that they would have to be legal in most if not all states.

guys lets think reasonably here, i bet there will be some sort of park/neutral over ride where they only work in park/neutral when the car is stopped with headlights off or something like that. or it could be like the bugatti veyron with some SS mode or something and they come on then.

who knows

all i know is that it looks MEAN AS HELL

EDIT: remind me not to try to run from them

It's Red.

What i'd like to know is how they managed to get a red CCFL that doesn't look pinkish.

it may be passed as legal when sold...but my guess a recall will be in the works shortly after making it illegal and making the company fix it.

Ford had to reduce the wattage of its foglights on the new mustang GT as it was having legal issues as being 2 sets of headlights in some states.

true...but that's because they're closer to rally/driving lights than foglights. The pattern is compmletely different and they're mounted too high to be useful in the fog. That doesn't mean they don't look cool.

heh the local PD here has a ton of the older camaros as undercovers, I think it would be dope if they made red and blue flashing halos for undercover vehicles so you'd be able to compliment them to suck up while the cop was writing you up

I saw 2 09 camaros, in person. One I walked up on and looked at.

I should have asked them to turn the lights as thats what cought my eye. (wanted to see the cutoff of the projectors)

What models have red halos? Just the SS the one I saw was a V6. Not sure what the other one was as I was driving.

i have seen several SS, RS, LT and SS RS and none of them had red they were white halos, i think because of lighting laws in other states they decided that it would be better to just be white and keep it close to legal for all states as possible without causing a problem
