Here is a few pics of a Ultra Thin LED Dome Light being installed in a GMC 2002 Pickup. The factory setup was dim and the outer bulbs only came on with the switches (map lights). I hooked 2 Prewired Superflux 4 Chip LEDs to each switch just because I had room. Tonight I will see how bright they are icon_smile.gif

Damn I wish I would've thought about taking out the dividers and getting the larger size. I'm running the 1.5x1.5 and it's bright so that big one must be crazy bright!

Nice install! So are the red LEDs independently switched?

Yes, each switch controls the 2 red superflux on that side. The large white light comes on with the doors.

The Dremel is so handy on projects like this.

I will put this dome light into friends truck as he has been complaining about lack of light and then I can build another one with a RED ultra thin dome light for my truck icon_smile.gif

I got a chance to do a long trip at night and the white dome light works great and is very bright. The four superflux are just bright enough to light the seats and center console. I can leave them turned on all the time when driving at night without being too bright.
If I forget to turn them off when I get home, the truck computer shuts them off to prevent draining the batteries since it is all hooked through the normal dome light circuit.
I plan to move the superflux away from the edge of the light as it causes the back seat to be a little dark. I all ready have a little different plan for the next dome light mod...
