i need help people. i just bought a set of blacked out headlights for my 05 mustang. ive tried every type of bulb out there except for the hid conversion kit. literaly ive spent about 100 on like 20-30 different bulbs and none of them are close to being bright enough to see past a foot in front of the car. before i spend 400 on two hid kits because the headlights require 4 H1 bulbs, low and high beam. i need to know if anyone thinks or knows for a fact that the hid kit will work and will shine past one foot in the road atleast like 10 feet in front of me. please help me somebody.
would kindly appreciate it. thanks. email me at georgia_bulldogs85@yahoo.com. my name is mike.

how tinted are your headlights? If they are AVS covers I suggest removing them at night. If they are actualy niteshaded etc you may want to wetsand them to get some of the tint off. A halogen bulb is not going to do squat for you.

HID would be your best bet but without a picture of your lights I can't tell you how much it will help. I would not worry about bixenon HID's (hi/lo) just get a single beam and make sure you wire them to your battery for power vs your stock wiring harness.

I have pictures of 6K HID's with AVS blackout covers and it appears you get quite a bit of light thru them. Dont be fooled though, barely any light would pass thru. Tis the reason I upgraded my headlights and simply did clear corners with a black housing..Roughly 229 bucks but well worth it.

vvme[dot]com has HID kits for CHEAP. Not sure the quality but they are recommended a lot on the mustang forum I'm on.

Anyone else find it funny that MustangGurl's name is Mike?

I knew Taylor was but never heard Mike as a girls name. You learn something new every day.

PwrRngr - Thanks for the link to vvme, I'm gonna order up a set of those. They will prolly have to go in my stock housing for now, but I'll get around to fixing that some day.

Girls that are named Mike usually shave their legs quite a bit and have a deeper voice...they also tend to have a lump in their throat icon_lol.gif

IMo your best bet would be purhaseing a set of aftermarket projector headlights. Remove the lens, protect the projector lens and paint everything black. Then remove the projector and paint the front of the projector cutoff shield black.

This will give you an even more evil look without sacrificing ANY output. In addition you get the nice non-glare pattern of the projector (even if it isn't OEM quality optics, it's far better than anything you'll get with a reflector)
