I need to cut about half an inch off the end of this thing. I have 12 of them just like it and I need them to be fairly accurate.

I think a bench grinder like this would work, but what else do you suggest? Maybe an auto shop? Place that does mufflers or something? I don't want to have to buy a bench grinder and find a bench to mount it to any all that hassle.

I would think bench grinder would not be the best choice.

if you could get access to a metal bandsaw that would be your best hope of almost perfect cuts. Maybe a local school would let you use one, I know both the middle school and highschool I went/go to have them.

Maybe I can just mail them to someone who has a bandsaw and pay them a few bucks.

I can cut them for you, although I am on the other side of the country.

chop saw would be the best thing for it, most shops that work with metal will have one.

Well I found a tool that works just fine. It is a handheld grinder, and I use a metal blade to cut it straight down (held in a vice), and then use a metal grinding blade to smooth it out even more and make it nice.

Got 3 of them done and the spinners look so much better closer into the wheel. They stick out a tad bit, but not as bad as before.

Phil your a douche - go buy those Davins. Davins are 50 times better then those add-on spinners!

No these are actually really nice when they are tucked in closer to the wheel. They won't go ALL the way in, but they will go pretty close. The Davin's I want are $6000 for 4. I'd rather have air suspension and these wheels than Davin's and be eating food out of the dumpster.

Well I'm just not sure I can spend the money on it now, I'd spend around $4500 on it to do it right.

Well since my car has to run struts or cylinders, the ride quality won't be good and it will be much more expensive than common "bags". Maybe I should wait and see if I will get that truck since I imagine it'd be cheaper and easier to put air on that. The frame is an X, but I am not sure if that affects it or not.

Yeah I'm sure we can work out a deal with the Ice kit icon_cool.gif
