So i went to a nissan dealer to test drive a 350z, then off to a local used lot to test drive a s2000, miata, and a cross fire.

The crossfire was fancy, had some pull, but the top took too long to fold down.
the Miata felt cheap, wasn't too quick and its too much of a girls car for me.
The 350z was allright, nothing too amazing, felt like a standard v6.
Right now i am hooked on the s2000, reving that thing up to 8000 made my pants tight.

As of right now i have 2 people interested in my GTI.
Im hoping by the end of the summer i can have the s2000.

honestly the s2000 is just about the only honda I'd ever consider owning. sorry to hear you aren't enjoying the MKV but I can see how you'd want a real sports car instead of a hot hatch. I've been itchin to get something rwd ever since I got rid of my old BMW. Just as a suggestion though check the mini cooper s. It might still be FWD but the damn things are just so tossable.

Yeah, its just that im looking down the road and FWD is really causing problems. If it was awd or rwd i would love my GTI and keep it.
But no on the mini, if im going to be selling my GTI im getting the car i truly want, im not gonna settle for anything.

so I'm gonna suggest you check out the b5 chasis audi s4. starting to get really cheap, twin turbo v6, awd. Not stupid fast stock but can be a complete monster with a simple turbo upgrade

We were asked to clean up the thread, I can't pick and choose the two posts that may or may not have been constructive out of the 23 that needed deleted. So many posts needed deleted I thought about just locking the thread to save my time. But I was nice and cleaned it up.

All the posts that were deleted seemed like they could definitely be taken negatively to me. Repost them if you're that worried about it.

What's the deal with these ? The addition of an S2K-like start button is a popular mod in the Miata community but you still need to put your key in the ignition and switch to the on position for anti-theft purposes, right ? So.. instead of just turning a key you have to take your hand off the key and jam a start button on the dash ? It always seemed like a cool novelty that would wear off after three weeks and then I'd wonder why I'd put a big ugly red button on my dash . icon_wink.gif

Also, hi again all ! Seems like an age since I've been on the forums .

I'm not sure about the S2k but a coworker has the new Corolla with a push button starter. It has a transmitter in the key fob that senses when you're in the car and activates the button. No need for a key, just have the fob in your pocket and be in the car.

I feel like it's a slap in the face to your parents that you're already looking at new cars. Basically saying that a brand new GTI wasn't good enough for you. Just sayin...

dude did your thread about this on golfmkv.com get deleted? went looking for it a minute ago and nowhere to be found. with all the house cleaning done on this thread I'm really starting to think you just have a knack for getting people angry. anyways here's another one for the mods to clean out I guess.

The s2000 has one because it is a vehicle (loosely) based on a streetable F1 car (dash design, seating position, high revs, all down to that little red button). I try to push button start every car I get into out of habit now. The s2k dash is pretty symmetrical too FWIW

My parents dont really care. They knew i was settling with a GTI, i mean i love it but i would have rather spent the 15k on something else.

Funny, because most people here think of you that way...

And you 'settling' for a GTI at your age is a wee bit on the spoiled little brat side...

I could care less about what you think, you can honestly say if you had the option to trade your car for a car you truly wanted you wouldn't do it?

Would I trade my car for something like an Audi S5? **** yes I would but how's that gonna happen right now? I have the mentality of having a car for 3-7 years at a time, and each upgrade being something subtle yet noticeable... Different strokes for different folks I guess

Are you paying insurance on your own policy or on your parnets policy? If you're paying it then be prepared to get raped w/out lube.

My insurance guy represents about 6 or so different insurance companies. I got my truck for 6 months insured at $144.

I have no clue how but it works for me, speeding tickets magically didn't show up also.

Newer cars 03 - now you will get raped on insurance though....
