Just got my bite size Piranah bars (fast shipping and thanks for business cards). And I see the ends are Male/Female with no lose wires.. Just curious why they are sent out this way? without any connectors with loose wires to hook them up. I understand it makes them easier to link together but with only like 4 inchs of wire hanging out the tube and and inch of that a connector it does not leave much room for error when splicing them and adding more wire.

I was thinking you guys should make a connector head with like a foot of power & ground wire you can use so you dont have to cut off the connectors on the tube and sell it under the "Recommended Accessories" on the product page for like a buck or two. I know I would of bought one if It was listed.

Thanks,
Kindschi

PS: Will install in a few days, gonna pickup a V1 and buy some of the 3ft extension wires for the Piranah bars at same time to make for a cleaner install.

i understand and agree with you. im going to cut the heads of mine and use some crimp tools (thanks rogers). But and added way to work with them in future would be great. the linear connector is good but still hast the same ends.

Would this 3 foot extension cable work? http://www.oznium.com/linear-light-extension-cable

Cut off the heads of that, strip back the wires, and you're good to go.

We could make the 1 foot plug as you're describing, but it is one more product to stock, when the extension cable is just as capable of serving that purpose.

Please advise if you still think the 1 foot plug with bare leads is a good idea.

Indeed Phil that would work.. But does it matter which side you cut off male/female? Maybe put that info in as a sidenote on the product page. Something like "Great Tip: Buying the 3foot extension cable and cutting off the male/female (whichever it is) and stripping back the wires is a great way to keep your install clean and looking professional" I know I would of picked it up with that!

I was expecting to get a tube with like a foot of ground/power wire hanging off one end of the tube, when I got it I was kinda surprised that is did not. Its awesome for linking tubes but the lack of wire length can be alittle troubling to people picking it up like me who dont know which side to cut off and not knowing if doing the wrong side could by chance damage the tube. Im glad I have this forums to ask these questions but some customers may not come here or even know that this forums exist and be left thinking wtf did I just buy. The first thing I want to do when I get mod for my car is go out and put it on, last thing I wanna be is confused as to the correct way to wire it up and and be stuck looking at it in the box searching for answers, and thats where im at right now.

So maybe instead of making the new product I listed above you can include a little piece of paper stating that Its ok to cut off the male end, or female, or either.. (whatever the answer is) and that it wont harm the tube.... maybe even make the wires alittle longer like maybe 8-10 inches on each side, just to give alittle extra room for error.... I know not everyone has a pair of wire splitter and sometimes you can cut to deep using a knife or household scissors and with just a few inchs of wire a mistake can be alittle frustrating when your down to an inch or 2 of wire on the tube.

Thanks again for your input and time Phil.

Those look like the ones from my new Tri-Chip strips biglaugh.gif

They still better come with the on! icon_biggrin.gif Heheh, Usability FTW. I was acutally going to ask for more of these cross connects, as they now cover 3+ of our flex strips, piranha bars, etc. I'll wait for my next order icon_biggrin.gif
