The new alt(balt was too long to type) I am looking at. Might be able to get it for 7-8k. Newer model. Low miles. Waiting on the salesmen to get back to me and will bring the bimmer in to see if they will give me 3k for a trade on it. If so I will just trade it and be done. |

Its the truth? You are out of a job because of **** ass attitudes like yours. Well its a better deal to be forign, blah blah blah. Don't ***** about losing your job if you have no problem putting a **** KIA in your driveway. You know why they are cheaper? Look at the poor bastards that build those cars, living in total **** holes making barely enough money to eat. Buy German Italian or Ford. |

I've ONLY bought American while I was employed there,OBVIOUSLY it didn't matter to them when they handed me my Pink Slip at EITHER of those jobs ... I've got 20+ American cars sittting at home in the garage/warehouse ... Why should I try to cater to them by buying a substandard poorly warranted piece of american trash ,when they outsourced my last two jobs to offshore companies ,and not been loyal to an american supplier
I sold the Harley to buy an Aprilia ,and the Mini Cooper is German although built in England |

Actually they're cheaper because they're built better, and are more in demand. US auto factories are going out of business because they build crap, and buyers have gotten tired of replacing a transmission at 50K miles. Foreign cars = more reliable. Their factories are newer, and better technology. But you have the mentality of a recently laid off worker from Detroit, so I'm sure that won't change, nor will you accept Japan builds better, efficient, longer lasting cars. When's the last US based sedan you've seen with 150k miles on it, without around 10k of work put into it to keep it on the road? You can drive a Civic or any Honda into the ground literally, 200k+ miles. So... US all the way! WoooooOOO! |

I don't under stand this joke. They are gm bucks that my dad will never use. He can't redeem them for cash. So if I don't use them they will be wasted. It is only 2k worth of gm dollars. Fail much. Disclaimer: It is a joke. |

And for christ sake people no wonder so many people are leaving. Even a simple thread such as this starts a flame war about how this car company is better than this one. They all suck. Who gives a ****.
Last thread you will ever see with my name on it. |

+1 05 Cobalt has actually held up well in terms of reliability, but the side crash rating leaves a bit to be desired. 09 Looks nice though |

I knew you would chime in, since you know EVERYTHING about NOTHING. GM's 3.8 is one of the BEST built motors and they run over 300k ALL THE TIME. Any car built in the last 20 years will make 200k w. the proper maint. US auto makers do not have as GREAT of a product because they pay auto workers a fair wage, in china the people building these cars live in poverty so every extra penny can go towards engineering. And more efficient? DO some damn research, GM has over 20 cars that get 30+ mpgs, the Cobalts get better mileage then Civics AND they are cheaper. But keep buying the better product, and when you lose your job to a foreign competitor you can start sucking your own ass and not Japans. |

Honda Civic:
http://autos.yahoo.com/honda_civic_coupe/ Cobalt: http://autos.yahoo.com/2009_chevrolet_cobalt/ Where is the amazing gas mileage? The Civic has been out a lot longer than the Cobalt. GM was just about 20 years behind making a reliable, affordable, efficient car. Labor: Outsourcing even for GM is there. Mexican workers in Mexico only are paid $3-7 an hour according to a New York post article. They also must use government transportation to get to the jobs and are forced to work without breaks. Sure the GNX 3.8L that has lived for EVER... is a great motor.. To bad they never built an even better motor... they slacked and used the same design for like you said 20 years with no other reason to improve on it... Maximize profit and gain on a single idea. |

I worked and had 8 of my own outsourced workers in India for tech support. Were they the cheapest? No. They were all based out of Kochi, Kerala, and had amazing an amazing command of the english language, and all had masters degree in CS. They all drove mini-bikes like the area does, and own their own flats (apartments) With the conversion rate of what I paid them, and bonus, they made out quite nicely. Sometimes outsourcing isn't all about $$$ pOrk. It's about getting the job done right efficiently, and competently. It's become apparent this is easier to get from automakers based on the Orient, not here. I may not know anything, but I know there's a reason GM's going under. Remember Roger & Me / the scandal of GM switching parts / engines and putting cheaper buick engines in pontiac and vice versa? I know more than you think, and base my evidence off data, not: |
