Since I installed the warp core in my amp rack, I figured it would be a nice touch to install some warp nacelles under the side lip of the cargo compartment. I decided to design and build my a pair of 18" long nacelles based on the Federation Starship "prometheus"

Here's the initial designs (full scale)

The plan it so build a ABS and Aluminum sub structure followed by a fiberglass outer skin. I will cut a hole in the fiberglass for tinted/sanded/etched acrylic for the lighting effects.

Here's the cool part, I will be linking the blue lights in the main section to the throttle sensitive controls. The more I push on the accelerator, the brighter the nacelles get.

the eraser just doesn't work as well on my laptop screen biglaugh.gif

I've just grown accustomed to desgining things on paper...especially full-scale drawings like this one.
