I installed an IEC power receptacle for a Power converter (the one shown below)

http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a-store/item/ACS-48/IEC-POWER-RECEPTACLE/1.html

I'm looking for a rubber or silicone cover i can use to protect it from dirt/debris

Any ideas?

cut off the end of a spare cable, dremel a slot around the perimeter and place an o-ring around it. Then just plug it into the slot.

Edit: Or buy one of those outside outlets with the spring cover and seal and retrofit it to cover your plug.

Both ideas would work. I like the idea of a spring loaded cover, but finding one thats a similar size will be a challange. it may take some tinkering

I'd take the plug to it and cut the top 1/2 off leave some wire sticking out and make a loop between two of them , crimp nylon coated cable to the two wires insulationthen fill the top with black rtv , gives you an easy pull plug
