Hey guys, not that good with the whole resistor things but I know you can piggy back them to lower/higher the ohm's and what not...
Basically my question is: I have 4 sets of different resistors- 470 ohm 1/4 watt, 220 ohm 1/8 watt, 100 ohm 1/4 watt, and 1000 ohm 1/2 watt. All I'm trying to do is wire up 2 white leds to a 12v. The resistor calculator calls for a 180 ohm 1/8 watt for this to work properly. Is there anything I can do with my resistors to make this work instead of driving 15 mins to the nearest electronic store for a $1 purchase? Also- if the leds use 4.5 watts each and would run off a 9v battery, do they need any resistors if I wire 2 up to the 9v battery? Thanks guys |

First I'm going to assume you mean the LEDs use 4.5 VOLTS (not Watts). All you need to do is wire both LEDs in series to a 9V battery.
Put the 220 ohm and 1k ohm resistor in parallel for 180 ohms. |

Hook up a single 470 1/4 to each LED, then attach power and ground to each in parallel.
