I want to put a pirhanna bar in the grill of my car and maybe the hood scoop. Would this be illegal in texas since htey are emergency lights or does that only apply if they are strobing or the bar itself is visible?

I think you'd be fine if it was white.
You might get pulled over if it was red or blue. It wouldn't necessarily be illegal to physically have red or blue in there. Just use it in parking lots, chillen with friends, etc. Even if something is illegal, it doesn't mean you can't do it. You might these which are already waterproof: http://www.oznium.com/smd-bar |

talking to many texas officers here are 6 rules they all follow
1.They can't be in the hood or grill etc. When driving 2. You cannot mix the colors red and blue, only use one, as these are reserved for EMS 3. You cannot see the bar, led, bulb etc. Only the glow 4. They may not strobe, change colors etc. Only be a constant glow of a single color 5. If you do interior lights, rule 3 still applies. 6. It is extremely recommended, that you have the ability to kill your lights with a killswitch Couple of tips If you have the lights on, even if they are still legally installed remember that the screw that sticks out gets hammered Basically, your pulling more attention to you man, so do get that urge to speed or run a light And of course you CAN still get a ticket for them, as the way officers conduct their jobs isn't always as regulated as it should be, especially on misdemeanor offenses as these |
