okay so my indash head unit the kenwood kvt- 512i have is hooked up to my sub system in the back and all of a sudden the head unit will not turn on or light up.

the subs turn on and the capacitor turns on which means the preamp output is sending a signal so the amp turns on but the he3adunit still doesn't turn on

i was on my way to work and was ther early and i was listening to music i go to work and after 4 hours i come out and turn my car on and my stereo doesn't turn on.

please help i need my stereo

thanks in advance,

There should be a fuse either in the fuse box or behind the headunit.

yeah but it still has power flowing through it because the amp in line going into the amp from the headunit turns on the amp and the capacitor

doesn't that mean that the fuse isn't blown and power is running to it?

Does the display show up in the headunit? I would think if the fuse was gone to the head unit, the amps would not power up, but there could be 2 fuses for the headunit (constant 12volt power and switched 12 volt power) . First thing I would check is fuses or loose wires though.

there must have been a loose wire... if it happens again, try to pull the unit forward, then move one wire at a time to try to find the one that has a bad connection... it sucks when the tunes don't work!
