Beefy LED Mounting Question on 09 xB

This question has probably been asked a thousand times but I couldn't quite find the answer in searching. What is the preferred way to mount LED strips under the car?

I recently got two 38" and two 72" red beefy LED strips to put under my 09' xB. From what I see under the car on the side I have a nice metal strip where I suppose the body is joined to attach them too. On the front I have mostly plastic to attach to. And I haven't taken much look at the back but I think I have room to mount them to the bumper.

Now my worry in installing them is rust. Not so much with the front and back, but the sides. I had the under body coated if it makes any difference. Do I have to worry about rust? Also would zip-ties be sufficient? or should I use plastic u-clamps with screws?

Thanks
bad venge

screws work great I shoot a dab of silicone into the hole and under the strip before tightening
3M moulding adhesive tape works well too
drilling holes into the plastic and using zipties works well to

Okay one other question I have about installation is the wiring. Would it be alright to use lamp wire or should I get some outdoor rated insulated wire?

I bought some 3/8" split wire loom to wrap the lamp wire. Comes out a little cheaper than using insulated wire.

^^Unless for some reason you have a bunch of lamp wire laying around, you can buy inexpensive rolls of wire in various colors/gauges at your local Walmart.

I bought a huge roll of 16/2 lamp wire a while ago for various projects, so I would like to use that before I have to go buy other wire.

Installing these today around 10am. Hope to have them finished around the late afternoon and then I'll post some pics.

Just finished installing them about two hours ago. It was probably one of the hardest projects I've ever done. I'll post some pictures tomorrow night of the results.
