I'm looking to replace the LED's in my 07 Maxima (gauges/HVAC/door switches) and I was wondering if I need to match the operating current of the replacement LED's with the originals, or will pretty much anything work, as long as it's the same part number? I'll be using PLCC-2, PLCC-4, and 0805.

http://led.linear1.org/led.wiz

Get the specs from the leds you plan to use.
Source voltage 15.0
diode forward voltage 2.2
diode forward current (mA) 20
number of LEDs in your array 1

R = 680 ohms

just random numbers...

Dont mean to take the thread but would the Prewired Superflux led's sold here work behind the gauges?! Like rpms, mph, gas etc.

^ I dunno, you'd have to try it and find out if they fit. Probably not though.

It DEPENDS on what is currently back there ... If it's bulbs then there should be enough room you might have to use the bulb base to wire in the resistor and the led so it twists in ...
I've seen other peeps calculate a resistor size and splice it into the dimmer line for the cluster then just hook the led's into the bulb bases
