Good evening everyone!!
I am very excited to have gotten my dual cathode light tube (from Phil) today! I am from Canada ^__^

But I am an idiot when it comes to electric stuff, in fact, I have never touched something like this before!! puppy_dog_eyes.gif

I want to install 1 cathode light under the passenger footwell area in my 1995 honda civic. I understand that I must plug the cold cathode light into the inverter, but where do I go from there? I notice that for a computer, I need to plug the 4 pin connector to the inverter, and then to the power supply in the computer, do I do the same for my 12v car supply? Thanks!

Hey,

The one thing you need to make sure you DONT do is reverse the polarity on the power going to the inverter. Make sure the red wire going into the inverter goes to + in your car, and the black wire goes to ground. Otherwise, it will blow....

cut off the computer adapter and then you have 2 wires. one needs to go to a 12v + source (red wire) and the other a ground/12v - (black wire). Put a fuse / switch on the 12v + and you're set.

best thing to do for electrical if you plan on adding more is run a wire though the firewall but you could tap into your cig lighter power wire.
