Today I went for drive to town..I decided to blast the cold air..not the A/C my car's A/C doesn't work. While the cold air shoots out my car's heat gets up really high..nearly to the red marks..I was only going about 55, maybe 60. Not gunning it or anything..what you guys think the problem is?

How hot is it outside that when you turn the air to cold you get cold air without the ac working?

Have you checked the rad fluid? Did the car ever go back down to normal? Sometime a bad thermostat can still work, just not at the correct temperatures its set for so it will open up and cool the car down but reach high temp again before opening back up... and whats the make/model or the car doing it?

sounds like a bad thermostat or perhaps a bad water pump. If you turn on the hot air you should feel hot air blowing out, if not its the thermostat not opening up. Dont let it overheat often you will warp the head.

It just over heated today for the first time, I was stopped for a little while and let her cool down. Just ran to town tonight and she worked fine. Yeah when I turn on hot air it's hot air. I am going to try it tomorrow just starting it without driving it and see if the heat goes up with the cold air running. Today was really humid today, probably hit around 90 I wanna say.

I don't know if my AC works, theres a light on the button and it doesn't work. So, It might have been just the AC working..but still even if the ac does work the heat should rise that high.

The car went back down but it went down when I turned the cold air off. The make is the intrigue only car I own. My fluids are fine, I had a guy change my oil and check all my fluids he said they where okay.

So, now I have a different problem..now its cold outside and when I blast the heat going around 45mph or higher she starts to over heat..is it still the heater control valve? or something else? I am going to check a bunch of stuff tomorrow.

Your flux capacitor is leaking flux juices so it can't cool the engine.

When was the last coolant change ???
I'm betting Thermostat or Radiator Cap ... Either of these will cause overheating ... If it's been awhile I'd do a flush/change on the radiator and install the cap/Tstat

Id flush the system and get a new thermostat.

My car is having over heating problems, too.

So I started the car up, waited for pressure to build, and noticed I had a tiny pin hole leak on the hardline to the heater core and thermoinlet.

I blew the hose off my radiator once. That was pretty awesome sitting at a light and seeing steam explode from my hood
