Well guys ive decided to make this thread and hopefully this is a long laster.
I am very big into MMA fighting and UFC and want to see if any of you guys are into it.

Talk about anything like your favorite fighters, the ring girls, or even who we all think is going to win in the next ppv.

A few favorite fighters of mine are Chuck Liddell but ill admit he's old ****, Wanderlie Silva is a **** monster and Rampage Jackson.

Matt Hammill or however you spell the last name.

He wrestled with an old teacher of mines son, went to the same college I did, and gave a presentation at our old high school.

Sucked because hes hard to understand. Great kid though, a lot of potential.

I liked Forrest before he ran off the ring last time around.

I hate Lesnar.

I like the smaller guys, they put on better fights. On top of that, most of them actually protect their belt and dont just win it by decision.

yada yada.

Fedor - pound for pound the best fighter in the world right now. I like Lesnar and all, but if you stuffed Lesnar & Fedor in the same ring...Fedor would be your new heavyweight champion.

Oh, and some eye candy. If you haven't seen this chick fight, you need to. She is nasty!!!!

Let's see, I agree with:

Liddell is old a **** (though awesome in his prime)

Matt Hammill is a great story. Definitely an inspiration and he does have endless potential.

Forest is weird because he runs to the locker room after every loss. I don't know if he's a bad loser or just wants to go give it a good cry, but Silva KTFO of him last fight. WOW

Lesnar is an ass and I hate him. He will turn the UFC into the WWF and I will then stop watching. I hope Dana can smack him around and save the sport.

Gina is aaaaaamazing. One of my good friends is a distant cousin-in-law or something. I really hope she can get her weight cutting issues worked out because she is the face of women's MMA.

Diagree with:
Silva is not a monster. He was tons of fun to watch in Pride, but he just hasn't made the transition. Was literally one of my favorite Pride fighters of all time, but just doesn't seem to work in an octagon.

Fedor is not the pound-for-pound best. Anderson Silva is without a doubt the best the sport has seen yet. I think Fedor is a great fighter, but he really isn't fighting anyone great. Unless you fight the best, you aren't the best. I know everyone says it, but he really needs to come to the UFC before everyone just writes him off...

And oh yeah: Rickson by armbar

Wanderlei Silva is not a monster (though had his time in Pride for sure), Anderson Silva, IS a monster and will not meet his match for quite some time IMO. He may lose a fight eventually, but I bet he'd avenge it quickly

Ive gone to a couple matches....entertaining and use a lot of techiniques that I can utilize at work. We are tought a moderate amount of MMA style fighting and ground tactics in the academy; very cool stuff to use on your friends biglaugh.gif

One of the Cpl's neighbors runs a league for the Pacific Northwest....they hold matches every few months when the schools want to get together. It's always fun to watch them setup the cage in their neighborhood.

WHO'S GUNNA WIN GUYS:

Couture vs. Nogeira any wagers?

Couture is a workhorse and good striker with solid ground, Nogeira is a submission master and arguably the best in the ufc at submissions.

Couture. I think his wrestling will be enough to keep Nogueira on his back negating most of the submissions. Good ol' ground and pound will probably win this.

GSP is my fav.
Anderson Silva and BJ Penn, **** me off but they are amazing.

I am on the same boat as everyone else in the world I want to see Fedor and Lesnar. Fedor's manager is an idiot if he thinks Dana White is going to sign over half of the UFC just to get one fighter in the octagon.

I cannot wait for the New season of Ultimate fighter.

Ultimate Fighter has started! Turned it on late and missed Kimbo's entrance but still a good episode.
I am going for team Rampage because he's a favorite fighter of mine and he has Kimbo and another guy that i seem to like (cant remember his name)

SPOILER BELOW....

Bad fight choice on Jacksons part hardcore in doing Evans best submissionist against a guy who's ground game was HORRIBLEEEE.... in the 3 rounds their was about 4 or 5 attempted takedowns and 100% successful. Just destroyed him with the G&P.

I think the ref did a crappy job in that fight. They were on the ground for a long time in the first round with NO action at all, should have stood them up. He did a better job second round, but it was way to late, that guy was done for.

Good fight.

I can't believe how big these guys are..... Be interesting to see if any of those ogres can actually fight.

The guy that won the fight (Jon) trains with a friend of mine in Granite City. I thought the fight was pretty bad. Jon obviously kicked ass, but the other guy didn't have a chance. Couldn't defend the takedown at all and never even tried to get back up.

I love Rampage, but judging on his last coaching stint, Evans will dominate. Greg Jackson is in Evan's corner too, so it's basically his team

Not sure on a winner YET... but Marcus Jones is a favorite to me, dont think he will go very far but he's still gunna do some damage.

Roy Nelson will go far if not winning, that Schoonover guy with too!

What a crappy fight. How did that guy make it to the NFL if he is tired after 2 minutes in the ring?

These big guys seem like crap so far. Way to out of shape.....

I think Kimbo will beat Roy... The simple reason for that is all the hype with Kimbo. The fight has already happened, and I don't think every episode would be focusing on him if he was just going to lose right away....

1) Great first round. Lots of action and high intensity. I was really enjoying it until I realized they were tired with 2:30 left in the first round.

2) I have a buddy who has fought a couple amateur fights. After his first fight he said that you would be amazed at the amount of energy you spend. Also, that guy has been out of the NFL for a few years I bet.

3) I am REALLY looking forward to this fight. I didn't think that this would be the fight we would see in the first round at all, but I was hoping to see it eventually. It's really hard to tell how Dana wants to play Kimbo. Obviously he draws a lot of attention, which means serious sponsorship money. I think Kimbo is the only guy to ever be on TUF with his own Tapout shirt! On one hand, if Kimbo loses and Dana wants to make him look horrible (making Dana right), he would pump tons of money into making sure everyone sees his one shot. On the other hand, if Kimbo wins this fight, Dana will want to build up the climax to keep everyone watching... waiting for his inevitable fall. Either way, Dana is going to milk Kimbo.

Also, I don't care if Kimbo wins or loses in 10 seconds. He WILL be in the UFC. He is too big of a draw for Dana to not use him.

Kimbo is a beast of a man. But Roy Nelson has waaaaaay more experience.

I havent watched an episode, but from the commercials it looks like this show is all about Kimbo. Even the fighters look like they just watch Kimbo train the whole time. I'm surprised that this fight is happening so early.
