Have fun with that. Couple of my friends have owned DSMs and they've been nothing but problems. Hope you found one that works.

Yeah i looked quite a bit. Seen the car run and such.

DSM's can be a handful. The AWD dsm's are an absolute nightmare i would never even to think to tackle. This one is the FWD turbo version. And while it might be FWD im ok with that.

Should be very very toy to tinker on.

I drove my Roomats 89(maybe a year or two off) Shelby Z Daytona. It was a FWD Turbo and it was fun as hell to drive.... like a sleeper car pull up to a mustang, camaro, corvette etc.. and really give em a run for what looks like a crap car. Car was fun and hearing the boost blowing off was always fun.

Have fun with the Talon.

i love the people who talk **** about crankwalk......

do your research sir. It's the 7 bolt motors that are known for it.

Not the 6 bolt japanese motor this one has. It hasn't been molested infact all the work was done by a reputable shop.

agreed^^

I wanted to boost the vdub. But a car like this for the price i couldn't pass it up. Not to mention the potential it houses. And by getting it i still retain a reliable DD.

Dude the money you're spending on a piece of **** DSM(sorry just my personal opinion) you could stage 1 that VR. Just throwing that out there. I've driven a Stage 2 VRT Jetta that my friend Kim owns, **** heavenly. Smokes 5.0's without trying. Plus the rumble of a VR is quite naughty, haha.

I've had the misfortune of having to work on some DSMs at school, more of a headache than my aftermarket boosted 5 cylinder VW. I would call it a good car to try to buy and make a profit off of either in a part out or by turning around and finding some kid to take it off your hands. I've got a buddy who traded a MKI Rabbit Convertible for a GST and he's itchin to dump it for a MKIII VR6 now. My personal opinion is buy it, get it running a little smoother and pick some key elements visually to make look clean on the cheap then get rid of it before it becomes a nightmare. Use profit to boost Vr6

I had a 1.8 Eclipse, loved the thing. Got many comments on it as I kept it stock with different wheels. I painted it a nice color which made it stand out.

Id love to get either a GSX or TSi one day, depending on if I stay with rotary power or not.

Crankwalk, ah yes. Glad I never had to deal with that fun.

Good luck, and post pictures. For 2 grand, its a good deal if youre not buying trouble.

For 2k I could have sold you an m3 roller... with a fresh s52 for another 2.5k and you would have an M3 in how ever long it took you to build it...

ha! Seriously DSMs are over rated ;P

I recall someone making a joke about crank walk on here. Then got their ass served to them by someone who seemed to know their ****. It was quite humorous.

Any car can crankwalk. And honestly the amount of DSM's that have done it is very slim.

Also sull notice the car in the background? its a 2g *******. It has the 7 bolt motor known for this thing. I have the 1G!!! It has a repeat after me......6 BOLT!

its a very strong motor. the AWD versions of these cars are more trouble then the FWD. I wanted something to be a project/ weekend warrior. And as my parents said i cant mod the GTI's motor until its paid off because they helped me get it.

This will be a perfect car to do so with.

Thinking about this purchase after your last post, should you pay off your car before you buy another one?

Maybe its just my budgeting theory, who knows.

I highly doubt you have a clue what's done to my Stang or what I've run at the track. No, it's not stock and it will outrun that car.

I already toasted (from a dig) a 1990 AWD Turbo Talon when I just had catback (so I was stock). But I'm not going to get into an internet **** match with you.

my buddies supercharged cobalt beat a stang.....

its a 2003 gt, with a trickflow plenum, a tune, 90mm maf, full 3inch CAI, borla exhaust with an x pipe, headers, bigger wires. he basically has every bolt on. and he has a mild cam.

and this car smoked the cobalt. so please, if you have every bolt on on that car id love to drive a meet and race.
