ive bought 4 LED Modules to place under my door handles. im the middle of installing them now.
heres my questions: 1. most importantly, how can i install these to turn on ONLY when the doors are unlocked???? no one ive asked has any clue. 2. any ideas on how to keep the wires away from the windows as they roll up and down? |

1) Elaborate. Do you want them to turn on when you push the unlock button on your key fob? Or do you want to use a switch but want it to only work if they are unlocked? The latter is pretty difficult and not worth the install (you'd need some sort of mechanical switch to remember the position).
2) Disassemble your door panel with the window down, and route your wires accordingly. |

Inner door workings are tough to work around/through
I've had my best luck running thewires forward to the power mirror harness (if so equipped) and running it down along that bundle to the main harness ... Otherwise watch the workings and figure where wires can be placed and secured (you can sometimes use the linkae to the look to get towards the bottom then go across) To get it to light when unlocked you'd need to place a microswitch on the door linkage to activate it |

The interior lights should come on when pressing the fob button. You could hook into that circuit and the wires might even be in the door all ready.

I agree, alot of people who want that feature will wire them into the factory dome light circuit, which in turn will make them work with your key fob. What kind of vehicle do you have? As for your wiring,I've found that most of the time you can route those wires around the opposite side of the window track and then through a factory door grommet. |

if me not havin a working key fob right now is a problem then im hoping thats its ok. my plan is to get the majority of it wired and hooked up. so that when i do get my new keyless entry system it wont be such a headache to remove and all the door panels again and do the wiring then

Just run the wiring to inside your car, and then hook it up to your keyless system when you get it.

Well if you plan on wiring them to your stock dome light circuit, having a working key fob isn't really needed, because it will still function the same anyway. |
