testing led modules

What's the best way to test the small straight led modules? I won't actually install them til saturday, but I want to know the best way to test them. is it just to hook them up to the car battery or what? The issue i have is that I don't want to blow them...

would the switch be any different? like the rocker switch?

You don't even need a switch when you want to test them. Just hold the positive and negative wires against the appropriate battery terminals. Obviously this won't be a permanent install, but a 100% quick and easy way to test that they work.
