Everyone seems to brag on how much they spend on a system. Well I setup a super cheap system for a whopping $102 !

Used JVC KD-G720 receiver purchased on ebay $25 Shipped ! no wiring harness, no sleeve, no remote, no trim ring, was as is but works ! Used wiring harness and trim ring from old burnt up receiver.

$2 Garage sale special on some Thump! brand speakers !

$15 on a set of used JVC 6.5"s

Pair of dinosaur Pioneer 10's ts-w251c's in a box from my old 86 honda. Think I paid $40 for the pair back in 96.

The Hott Setup T-100 amp from a flea market for a whopping $20! which came with 12 awg power cable, & two crappy roadmaster subs.

Used all the wire that came with the amp and didn't have to buy any HA. Just a few butt connectors.

Funny thing is I flat out cannot believe that tiny old amp can push those 10's !
It's not defining but d*mn decent. It's wired stereo since I seriously doubt it would do 2 ohm mono and can't find any manual on it anyhow. I was going to use it on a set of the 6.5s but wanted some bass and 6.5's suck. Boy was I surprised. I may try a youtube vid for a gag if I can figure out how to upload it.

Can you out cheap me lol ? biglaugh.gif biglaugh.gif biglaugh.gif

I can hardly find a wiring kit that I pay less than $100 for. (just for amp wiring and RCA's)

I don't understand what you are bragging about? That your system sounds downright terrible?

"Yea my **** sucks! What, what, bring it! You ain't got ****! Look at these floors. Thats real dirt son!"

I'll put money down the factory system that came in my neon sounded better/clearer than yours. And guess what...it was free with the car ;)

Those were actually decent/somewhat under rated amps. I'm sure you probably know that those were actually made by Orion. icon_cool.gif

I got a stock 1000 watt system with my car. For free, damn what a deal.

Still got my $630 amp, subs blah blah blah combo sitting in my bedroom. Gonna dump it off on CL for like 300 which is a super steal. Much underrated system.

Meh. To some people it is worth it. I have around 2k into my system I would guess. And every time I drive it I love cranking it up real loud and it being clear as hell. Subs pound really nicely and very clear. Makes driving the car alot of fun(that and that whole move up and down thing biglaugh.gif)

Its all about what you love and what you want to spend your money on. Some people have that itch to have a clear awesome sounding system every time they drive their car. Others don't care and just want to get from A to B.

I took speakers from a Lexus, BMW, Chrylser, and Mercedes. All of them free as I designed them. I then took a 16 channel 1.2kW RMS fully programable amp...also free. I then tuned it to.....yup, also free. Total cost $0.00

$50 for 2 12's in a box with amp! Weren't hot now were they?

Being currently unemployed turned me cheap. I used to blast my ear drums back in the day.

3 - 6 ohm Eclipse Aluminum 12s Kicker ZR-1000 in the trunk of my old tbird. I can still hear my ears ringing today. Man I wish I had that money back now!

All I have left is the tbird and it's probably worth less then what 1 of the subs originally cost.

For my stereo its about...3k for just 2 subs and 2 amps. Let alone batteries, alternators, all the wiring, controllers, all the body work i'd have to do. etc.

I think I have about 2-3K in my system. Soon to be a lot more though, once I get the lighting done (if ever).
