not sure the wire from the surface mount led bar is very thin and whatever the 12 volt remote box is. Can i get a fuse and fuse holder at an auto parts store because I live in Canada and I want to install this today

yes auto parts , radio shack, ect .... 5 amp should be plenty

Most are 16/18 minimum to handle higher loads (30A)

do i need screw on wire connectors to hold the wires together or just twist them together and use electrical tape to keep them together?

You CAN do either of those but I would HIGHLY recommend you do NOT. I recommend you do crimp connections as those will handle the vibrations a lot better. |

It depends what you are attaching , they make butt connectors to do one wire to another , you'll need a set of crimpers to make those connections
you'll strip back 1/4" of wire insert it into the connector then crimp it to hold it repeat on other end |

thanks for the help i got her wired up and tested and it functions fine so now i need to install it in my engine bay
