Carfax reports... who's got access?

Anyone have access to carfax?

A female friend of mine bought a bike used, and I'm thinking it's been totaled. I'd like to run a carfax report for her, but no longer have access to it.

While cleaning I randomly found something with my old K5 Blazer's VIN on it and if anyone has carfax I'd be interested in seeing what's happened to it since I sold.

If the bike had been totaled, it would say so on the title

Not ALWAYS ... If the Insurance company totals it and the Owner "buys" it back they often retain the original title , and it doesn't get the title changed to "salvage" ...
There's a local here who's totaled three bikes that I know of , and all three have clear titles and no records on carfax ... and he has clear titles on all three (for sale on craigslist) listed as never down , new plastics

Salvage and totaled are two different words. A bike won't get a salvage title when the original owner buys it back as long as the frame / subframe aren't damaged. Otherwise 80% of the time it will be marked as salvage

Okay, say I go buy a bike. I smash it up pretty good but never report it and fix it out of pocket.

Clear, and a HUGE percentage of sport bikes in the used bike market are exactly as you described as a big portion of sport bike riders ride without insurance.

Mostly advertised with "new plastics" after being dropped

CarFax reports are pretty much a joke anyway.
