I have LEDs installed in my car that are wired to come on with my courtesy lights.

When the courtesy lights are off (like when the door closes) the LEDs in my side panels dim to about a third of their brightness.... but never turn off.

All of my interior courtesy lights have been converted to LEDs, so I was wondering if the lowered resistance had an effect.... maybe?

(The lights I am talking about are on the bottom of the picture below. The single Blue LEDs)

hmm no idea. I have those wired into the power source that powers the map lights. I know that those turn on and off by changing the ground (I believe)

Then likely the door switches are not going off or have a high resistance so theres a slight path to ground/thus the 1/3 brightness
try using a relay to be triggered by the dome lights to turn the leds power on and ground them

Oh ok, that makes a lot of sense. The single LEDs (wired in series) are the only ones that still seem to have power to them. The strips that I have in my footwells do not light up at all.

How would to recommend I wire in a relay. I haven't had any experience with them.

Thank you by the way.

Wire the coil to the existing Dome lights First (and see if it opens and closes properly ) Terminal 85/86
If it does feed the common (30) with 12 volts (fused)

Then connect the + of the Leds to the NO terminal 87
and ground the LEDs

well it worked..... I overlooked the fact that my interior lights dim before they go off. Now it buzzes pretty bad.

Get a solid state relay and it'll fix that buzz.
