I would like the Flexible LED strip to blink every .5 seconds while the brake is applied. What size uF capacitor would I use, in line, on the positive side?

I don't believe ANY cap will cause it to blink that way ... You'll need a circuit to do it ...

I was under the impression that a cap loads to a certain point then discharges. The rate of flash would depend on the size of the cap.

NO it would need an RC circuit to charge and it wouldn't be 100% every .5 seconds ..
I bought a brake lighter flasher from Ebay that Flashes it for 10 seconds then goes to steady burn ...

I'm ASSUMING he wants to add EXTRA brake lights on his bike ...
I have it wired so my top brake light FLASHES , the bottom works regular ...
IMO you really don't want ALL the brake lights flashing & thats what would happen if you repace the brake relay with one of the flasher units

This is a motorcycle so IF by chance all of the lights in the back flash I think I would be happier. I have gone through 4 flashing LED bulbs (1157 type) in less than 30 days. The idea is to make the back of the bike stand out. I'll see if I can find the relay on the Goldwing. That sounds like a good idea. If not I'll take it to the other idea and just put the flasher in line with the strip.

Since It's just an LED strip you have to get an LED specific flasher , they don't pull enough current to get the small metal can type ones to go ...
Search on Ebay , I got a great unit (I bought 8 of them) from a seller tonyshifter DBA Smart Electronics ... But like I said it flashes for ten seconds when brakes are first applied , then lights up solid ... If someones coming up faster then I like I just release the brakes and tap them again for flashing ... To me ALL lights flashing can confuse a motorist more especially if you throw in a turn signal
It flashes the side lights (under saddle bags) and my top box light on my Goldwing been installed for 4 years ... Have the same setup on My Aprilia RSV , Aprilia Scarabeo, Honda Silverwing, Honda Helix, Vespa , AllState and a Fuji rabbit scooters

Bad Venge,
I see you aren't into bikes at all! :-)
I guess you're right it might be confusing. I will look up Tony and see what he has. Thanks.

PS
Just out of coursity when I loaded my pictures into the gallery they didn't come up so I figured they were too big so I used PhotoShop & reduced their size & uploaded again & they still don't show.
Anybody have any idea what I am doing wrong???
