for those of you wanting some brake lights, there you go.. get the red ones.. red LED brake lights.. =P Mount them to your wing.. hehe get the 24" ones =P lol

do these have a stand alone mode or do you need the controller????

It is possible to wire them up so that they work "stand alone". You need to figure out which of the 8 wires to hook up.

5 wires are for segments, and 3 wires are for the ground of R, G and B.

And I'm pretty sure the controller puts out 12v, so that wouldn't be a problem.
