Hey guys, does anyone know any good LCD TV repair forums?
I recently received a free 40" Sony LCD that powers on for a second and then turns off. I have seen this problem in computer monitors and it is usually the LCD Inverter. The Sony LCD has a LCD Inverter board that had a lot of really crappy looking solder points (bunch looked like the might be cold solder points). So i went through and touched them up, still does the same thing. Basically wondering if anyone knows how to test an LCD inverter board (don't want to buy the $100 part if it won't fix it), or know of a good LCD TV forum to ask some questions. I know there are quite a few electrical genius's on here, might be worth a shot. Thanks. |

^^^ Yeah I have tried searching for the past few days. Can't find any with my model number, but I found a few similar ones that all came back as LCD Inverter board. I would just like a way to test that its bad before I order one.

TV is fixed. Was able to find a forum to reset the error code and I am guessing when I fixed all the cold solders it fixed the problem. TV has been running great for about an hour now.
Thanks. |
