heres what he said if you cant see it,
I ordered some cathodes from Oznium.com. They come with dual transformers that allow you to plug 2 lights into 1 transformer. The problem is that the wire coming out of the light is not long enough to reach the transformer from the other side of the car. I called them for tech support. The dude was a straight up azzhole. All I asked him was could I extend the wire and still leave the plug on it that plugs into the transformer. He said no and that it would not work, but didn't tell me why. He told me I had to buy another transformer. I don't see why I need 2 dual transformers for 2 lights? He was acting like that white wire that comes out of the cold cathode has some kind of special magical properties. Do you know why it wouldn't work if I extended it with more wire and still left the transformer plug on it? I can understand if the transformer needs to be a certain amount of inches from the light to make it work, but he didn't explain that as a reason

Sometimes "busy" can seem "mean". Which is something all CS reps struggle with. He's probably sensitive.

Mmm I replied on there.

Danny! Next time give a quick explanation as to why: "The white wires run high voltage alternating current, and extending them causes extra resistance and voltage drop which can make the cathodes dim or flicker"

Whatever . Oz gave him the right advice . Whether or not they were polite with him is up in the air; I wasn't there for the call . I've never had anyone be rude at Oz so history says I take their side over his . icon_confused.gif

Oh God, I haven't watched that CC video in so longer. I love the stoner that filled in for Phil to talk about his old highlander.

I've seen a couple "good" discussions of just pages and pages of you guys "helping" somebody with the whole extending the wire question.

Zanson does a pretty good job summing it up...

lol I've extended cathodes wires but I used cathode wire from a broken tube and have had ZERO issues for like 4 years with most of the time on when my pc is.
