http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Car_Entertainment/Mob...n_Navigation/Mobile_Video/DDX714 Double din, touch screen with USB and what not. NOW Instead of running an ipod. Could I lets say...have an external Harddrive (USB) filled with the appropriate formatted music on it. Plug it in and have the Unit recognize its there? Same with movies and such. |

Most external hard drives required an AC plug. You'd want some flash drives.
And that's if it is actually recognized. From the description it says USB controlled iPod/iPhone. Whether that means it has a standard USB outlet on it or not, I dunno. |

I have the ddx514. It has a limitation of 499 songs per folder, and it won't play random through everything, just one folder at a time. Just letting you know so you don't load up 3k songs on a drive and expect to hear them all. I use a flash drive with mine, btw.
