So, just curious, most of us are clearly car buffs, all good and well, what are you rockin at home?
Personally, i love klipsch, i think their speakers are clear and bright and just awesome all around. I went to best buy the other day and went to the magnolia room and listened to the new Icon W series WF-34 and WF-35 towers and i thought they sounded pretty sweet, most definitly need a sub coupled with them since the drivers are too small, the WF-35 has 5.25" drivers. I also heard the Icon W bookshelf speakers, at $600 a pair, they sounded every penney of it and more. Those lil SOB's cranked. Recently i have been getting really into home audio, doing research and really seeing whats out there, i read my sound and vision magazine all the time, love a new issue, looking at alot of the audio companies i didnt knew existed that are in there. There is alot of nice technology out. |

For now we've just got a decent setup from Walmart, heh. Renting the house and the lease is almost up, not wanting to get too far into it just to find out it's moving time again.

I got my speakers from Element Designs. They are massive and I love them. I only have a 3.1 setup because of the way my room is setup, but I'll get some rear fill eventually. Before the eDesigns, I had some Adire speakers, but I handed those off to Aken because I was too lazy for the DIY scene...
I tend to stay away from the big box name brands simply because I like supporting internet companies. If you go to some of the HT forums (AVS is the one I use) they will show you some brands that are really awesome at half the price of Klipsch. The only bad thing is you typically have to take everyone else's opinion because you won't get to listen to them in person (not that listening to them in a store is realistic anyways). |

I've got a basic Pioneer 7.1 setup, run off an Onkyo 505. It works for me.

Klipsch is expensive, i will give you that, i like them alot because they have been around for a long time, and they have forums on their website for their loyal fan base. You also get input from the klipsch staff as well. I would consider other brands like paradigm and B&W and Definitive technology, i just kinda got hooked on the horn tweeter, no other hifi brand really toots those.
Internet brands can be awesome such as outlaw audio, i personally dont want to take a chance on some internet only products, outlaw has been featured many times in magazines and they have a good trial program, some others, meh, there really is no desire to try them almost. If i had enough money i would try a bunch out but i dont. |

My parents have an Avex home theater who build their speakers in house down in South Florida. They got a 7.1 system that just sounds awesome.
I on the other hand have a pretty weak Onkyo system at the moment. |

I've got the Adire towers from Brandon as mentioned, with Cerwin Vega center, rears, and line-in subwoofer (ugh) to fill the 5.1. Powered by a Yamaha 6.1 receiver. Works for me!

I guess a picture is in order:
In this photo: Elemental Designs A6-6T6-Tower, Toshiba HD-A30, Denon AVR-2805, Oppo DV-970HD, Sega Genesis, Elemental Designs A6-6T6-Single, NES 8-Bit, Xbox The only thing I've added since tha tpicture is a Moxio DVR that I HATE! And you can see the edges of the Adire boxes because I was still doing some A/B testing in this picture. Those boxes now belong to Aken EDIT: And the beast:

Did you have any problems with the ED speakers shipping? I ordered some car stuff from them and 2 of the 4 packages came in damaged. Still have the one tore up amp laying in my room, they don't even want it back...

I currently am home theater less since graduating school. But in college I had a Pioneer 7.1 Receiver, Sony SSF-7000 Towers, Sony SS-B1000 (4, rear/side surrounds), Sony SS CN5000 Center, along with a 12" 200watt Sony + 15" 300watt cerwin vega subs.
System was pieced together, just happened to keep finding the best deal on Sony speakers.... Was a nice system for the $500 bucks I had invested in it.... |

My sub, however, did take about a month to arrive because they took their sweet time building it I guess. |
