Floating - sensory deprivation tank

Anyone tried this? Looks really cool.

I found a place in Oakland that has them.

Sounds like a great place to drop some acid and listen to some Floyd.

Sounds like an expensive way of jumping in a lake and just keeping ur head above water while floating....(do it all the time haha)

OTHERWISE that site does make it sound very badass

Anyone who knows anything about forces and boyancy knows they're feeding you a line of BS. It's just providing an upward force to keep your body in static equilibrium (just like a soft matress). One's muscles, tissues, and joints are still being pulled on by gravity.

Beyond that, it does sound kind of neat to lay on some saltwater. If there's truely no sound you should be able to hear the blood flow through your veins after about 15 minutes.

I've been wanting to do this for years. Some sites that build custom tanks for homes can be found for less than $5000.

Search Joe Rogan Floatation Tank on youtube. He has a hilarious interview with Carson Daly where he describes the details in front of a bunch of people who have no idea about it.
