Find out your bulb # then you should go to Ebay and look up your bulb number and get the appropriate HID conversion kit for your bulbs and order them. Any more questions just let me know.

its a 9006 bulb, the stock wiring will hold up to a 100 watt bulb

i have a 55 watt 6000K hid set up in my low beams.

pictured is my 55 watt hid lows next to a set of 100 watt high's

I would stick with just a HID low beam... Reason beeing it can take anywhere from 30-45seconds for the hid to fully charge up and reach full brightness and if you need to see something up the road right away you wont have the option anymore. And if your lows dont stay on when you change to hi's then you risk beeing blind for a short time. And besides all the safety reasons you might notice your HID's are brighter then your hi beams anyway, I would buy the lows first and if you want his you can always just go back and order em.

www.ddmtuning.com <--- They have great kits @ a great price...

Also take into consideration the color you want, The site I posted above has a color chart for referance.

Yeah DDM Tuning (posted above) make great HID's. Specifically the ones your getting, since I just bought a pair for my 2001 chevy s10. Great headlights. Definitely bright.

I've read that if your original headlights are reflectors that it would be bettert o buy a conversion kit so that it would be projected...what would be better?

I've noticed in my s10. When I had projectors with 55Watt 10,000k HID's driving in the rain was decent at best. But driving in the rain with Regular reflector housings with them aimed correctly driving at night and rain is Excellent.

Some would beg to differ, but I like using them with properly aimed reflector housings.

^^That's the thing...you can't aim reflector housings with H.I.D.s properly. icon_confused.gif Well of course unless they are factory housings that were originally designed for H.I.D.s icon_smile.gif

I have a truck almost the same year (1995). What would you recommend for a housing for HID?

Many are disassembling the housings and retrofitting projectors from newer HID equipped cars ... I have Acura TL's in mine

You can't properly aim stock reflector housings for HIDs. You can aim them down but that's not the correct way of doing it.

Thats what EVERYONE is doing ... You'll have poor cut off's and the lights will dazzle and blind oncoming drivers , you'll get brightlighted constantly ///
Thats why so many people hate HID's ... they were never set up for reflector housings and everyones retrofitting them in ...
IF a company makes projector headlights for your vehicle those can be retrofitted and aimed ... BUT be careful as some use depo (cheap plastic projector lenses) and HIGH wattage HID's can melt them

Retrofitting means to custom mold projectors onto your headlights. If your good with fiberglassing you should look into it. Someone on here with a Vette put some nice pictures up.

retrofitting is taking hids from a car and their lenses and ballasts and refitting them into your housing ...
The accura TL's are a very common donor for this

If you don't have the patience or skill to do your own full-on retro fit, you can get a projector headlight from ebay (like this one)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/94-95-96-97-98-9...arQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

then find the bulb typee and get an HID. The even a cheap projector is better than a refelctor housing as long as it has the cutoff shield.

I meant more like...so your beams arent crossed? I have them in my highbeams, so I just aimed them down a little bit.

Make sure there connected properly, be surprised how many people reverse the polarity and think something major is wrong (I did once and was about to freak out!)
Where the HID plugs into the Ballest, flip the plug.

if it is a single beam HID kit check all your connections...then turn on your highbeams while the car is running. If you have them crossed you may have placed the HID beam on the high beams...if they come on, simply change the wires.

Not true.

Alot of the 2g eclipses/Talons rock them in the 1997 eclipse headlights. Even when JUST installed and no adjusting put into them, the create a quite decent cutoff line in front of the car. It's the only car i have ever seen HID's on with reflectors and not *****.

I was pretty amazed.
