RIP Seattle Police Officer

Officer Brenton was fatally shot while sitting in his patrol car after conducting a traffic stop. A vehicle approached from behind and pinned the driver side door of his patrol vehicle before opening fire and killing him. The vehicle then drove away as his trainee returned fire; like the coward that he/she is.

Officer Timothy Brenton was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting.

Officer Brenton was sitting in the passenger seat of a patrol car with a trainee discussing a just completed traffic stop when a vehicle pulled alongside the patrol car and began firing. The trainee sensed something was not right and shouted a warning and ducked just before the shooting, she suffered minor injuries. Officer Brenton was killed instantly.



Officer Brenton had served with the Seattle Police Department for nine years and had previously with the La Conner Police Department. He is survived by his wife, son, and daughter. His father and uncle are retired Seattle police officers.



Please have him and his family in your prayers. Tim is survived by his wife, 11 year old daughter and 8 year old son. May you rest in peace brother and know that we now have the watch.

Possible suspect was located shortly after the funeral and early reports state that he drew a weapon on seattle homicide detectives and was shot in the head. He is currently undergoing surgery (unfortunately).

There's a lot of bad stuff happening this week.

The Fort Hood shooting, Downtown Orlando shooting, and now this

I agree very sad,but lets hope the suspect actually suffers for awhile before they die.

This kinda stuff always reminds me of the oakland shootings that happened awhile back where the community said the cops who killed the suspect were racist and that the suspect had a good cause to kill a ton of cops

unfortunately I could not...I was on duty during the funeral. We had several officers attend the event though.

I was able to hear the County broadcast for officers to respond to the Tukwila area after the suspect was shot.

Suspect is now in serious condition and is looking like he will survive. Warrants on his vehicle and apartment returned bomb making materials, firearms, newspaper clipping of the October 11 firebombing of 4 SPD patrol vehicles and their SWAT callout vehicle. Suspect was denied when he applied for a police officer position with SPD. Now I just hope we put a needle in his arm. Suspect was shot in the head and in the side.

He was going for suicide by cop. Where you able to respond to KC request? Or did you have to stick to your district?

was stuck in my district. By the time we would have made it down it would have been severe overcrowding. All radio traffic was reserved for emergency traffic only because of all the jurisdiction that switched to the radio tac that were responding.

Looks like he got shot 4 time in total. Is going to survive as the bullet that hit him in the head went in towards the back of his head.

It was most likely not suicide by cop. He wanted to kill as many as he could and was planning future attacks which would have been on a much larger scale. Thanks to the civi who called in the report of the car.

yeah this week has been crazy one of my best friends cousins was just killed too on his military base in NC
