Wig wag is a little box you can buy that can make 2 light sources flash in a "wig wag" pattern, like police headlights usually flash left then right. (like this Eyecrazy.gif)

Yes go for whelens....they are extremely bright and depending on your power supply you can change the patterns they flash at and also the speed. (Comet flash owns)

you cant put whelens into a model car, so doing the same actions with LEDs becomes necessary.

he does have a point, i wouldnt mind having some flashing LEDs in my truck for a little added effect. also, is wig/wag a name brand for the device or is that what they are called? all this electrical stuff is so interesting to me.

W/ a potentiometer you can adjust the speed.

Whelens are different than wig wags. Yes, whelens can have the same pattern, but wig wags will work w/ neons too. You can have your interrior switch b/t 2 different colors.... it's very cool

a 555 timer is a chip that i haven't learned to use yet. it is VERY useful when you figure it out though.

Right now I have a setup with wig-wagging red LED taillights and strobe-like headlights build from a 555 timer IC on my model Mustang Cobra RC/car. I'm gonna try and get some video of it when its completely installed. Should look cool. Oh, plus it has an LED UB-kit...haha...
