I got 12 cathodes under my car now, 4 on each side and two in the front and rear - the spread of the glow is closest to what is shown in this picture(the sides go out about as far, but isn't shown accurately):
Note that the white spots in all of the pictures are due only to the camara - in real life they don't show up. Note also my brother's Eclipse and the shed lighting up in one of the pictures. The color is about the same, minus the white spots. More pictures here Questions? Comments? |

really doesn't look all that bad to me aside from the white spots like you said, the glow out of the back is really extended, maybe it's just wet pavement
the sides don't show as well |

For the price of all those cathodes you could get a used OPTC kit here on the forum...

Thanks for the compliments
Aken: Yes, the ground is wet. But pictures (with my digital camara at least) never show the glow like they should. So really, with the ground wet, it shows up a lot better then that, and a lot farther and so on. But becuase of the camara, it shows up like that, and that is about what it looks like when the ground is dry. Granted, if I took more pictures with the ground dry, it wouldn't show up as clearly, or as far in real life or the pictures as when the ground is wet - but with the ground dry, it looks like those pictures in real life. Does that make sense? |

When I had the Poor Man's UB on my Explorer, I only used 4 tubes (2 on each side) and even that was ridiculously bright. So for $6.99x2[pair] = $14, still a lot less than an OpTX.

$6.99 seems a little steep for me, you can get them for like $4.50 they arent the greatest ones but there isnt much difference from what i hear. I only paid $6.50 and they are the same as the ones on here.

6.99 steep??? you gotta be kidding me.
800 bucs for a UB , thats steep...200 bucs for strobes, that might be steep...7 bucs for decent lighting....C'mon...if you can spend 4.50 for cheap ****, then you can spend 7 for better ones. |

Sunbeam CC's. Same as here. They're usually like $6.99 on sale per pair. Won't say where, since this is the -->Oznium<-- forum, but they are out there. For what I was paying originally, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to use a cheaper source for the same product.
