Take them out of the tubing. If they break, oh well just buy new ones they are cheap.

Try using a heat gun to loosen the glue. You might be able to use a dremel to cut away at the housing as well.

You mount the transformer above the headliner. There's insulation up there and it will fit nicely. You should "sew" the cathode tube onto the headliner for a clean install.

try just cutting the ends off of the tubes. You can string the wires through (be VERY careful) so you can suspend them.
Here's a picture of what I mean:

Makes is VERY easy to mount them in the headliner and they are still pretty strong.

well you pull the leads through the headliner and I'd recommend taping them or something so that they dont' move much, but yes, they'd give just slightly depending on how much slack you left the cathodes.

Just remember not to pull too tight or youc an break the cathode VERY easyily. But by doing this you can make the cathode less noticeable.

not sure where you wanted to mount your cathodes, but my inverters are inside the A pillars, you can also check the C pillars if you car has any -- don't know what you drive.

One thing that i have done before is to extend the wiring between the inverter and the cathode itself. BUt remeber be very careful to not mismatch the wires. If you have to get color coded wires from radioshack then do it. I used this when putting neon wires around my sunroof in my '89 Prelude before it died. It looked awesome when i had it.

I don't think the polarity matters after the transformer. Isn't is alternating current?

Well... In the Navi, there should be lots of room above the headliner. How did you look? Did you completely take it off?
