ok the laws in Texas say that nothing on the outside of the car can be red, white or blue, except your normal stock lights.
- Only white and amber can be in the front. - Only red, or amber can be showing on the back, except when in reverse. - Interior can not be to bright and no lights can be in front of the driver or close enough to distract him/her. except when off road - UB kits can be on but harrassment from cops is likely and ub kits can't be red, blue - Absolutely no strobes while the vehicle is in motion, only parked i may have forgotten some laws but i guess there not that important if i forgot them. Oh yeah and each city can have their own ordinances on lighting. Last edited by alienyoungjr on Sun Jun 06, 2004 1:11 pm, edited 1 time in total |

oh yeah I forgot, for all of us that lower there cars or hate the jacked-up trucks. It illegal for your headlights and taillights to be to high. I forgot the exact measurement but oh well I don't think many people on this forum will need to know. So, If you tired of headlights from a big truck in you rear view mirror then move on down to Texas.

I just found out that its now a felony in Texas and maybe elsewhere if you caught racgin then you go straight to jail and there ain't nothing the cops can do for you about it. I asked a local cop in the next major city next to me and he said that they have no stated rulles or regulations of UB kits as ong as they aren't the colors of emergency vehicle and they can't strobe but thats in Plano, Tx. i know a couple of guys that drive around wiht there camaros and they have red and blue UB kits but they don't do anything but light up and they've never been pulled over for that.

A lot of cops dont really care if you have blue or red even though your not supposed to. But if they feel like pulling you over for it, they can and they will. A lot of cars around here ride with blue and red UBs on even though they are illegal. I even drove with mine on red for a while but I dont need the tickets so no more red or blue. What cracks me up is people that actually do get pulled over for red/blue UBs and then get **** about it.

this is true almost everywhere. Not only is their a maximum but also a minimum height for mounting headlights. |

that is true but i don't think the cops care all that much about to low headlights than they door way to high headlights.

Maybe not in TX...but the CHP is known for pulling imports over and measuring their headlight height. too low, they impound it or write a hefty ticket.

that sucks, I think our cops are pretty cool about the glowing stuff as long as it doesn't strobe/flash. The only thing that they might do is harass/folow you around for a couple minutes.
