i agree that imports are easier to modify than most domestics. I looked inside the engine bay of a Civic and man you can like smuggle people in from the border of Mexico into Texas.
Basically(not too much detil) you just remove you air box all the way up to the throttle body and then put the new one on and seal it up. (very little detail huh?) |

Uhhh - you aren't very mechanically inclined are you? The amount of open space in the engine bay has nothing to do with the ease of modifiying a vehicle. Imports are much cheaper to fix up - but domestics are just as 'easy' as you say, to hook up. |

Hey i'm mechanically inclined, but i also know that theres more stuff you can add to your engine than just replacing the old stock like headers for instancem you just replace but with a bit a work involved. I know theres all kinds of stuff you add to the electrical system and all kinds of other devices. sometimes it good to have room, especially me when I start going nuts with lighting.

Hey FlinxSL, go to www.G2IC.com !!!! It is a website based solely on the Generation 2 integra (90-93)! Intake on your Integra is pretty easy. There are 2-3 tubes small tubes connected to it. Just remove those off the pipe and then undo the bracket holding it to the throttle body (or where the pipe ends closest to the firewall) and then put the e-bay intake on it and connected the tube from the ebay intake and put in on the knob that comes off the valve cover (top of engine)
Anyways, I have a '94 integra GSR, i used to have a '93 integra LS, but some guy ran a red light and i didnt see him and ran into his back axle and totalled both my car and his truck! www.G2IC.com Team-integra.net honda-tech.com (.net ??) |

question for anyone to answer: ( its about intake)
Is intake suppose to make you car start burning up gas faster than it did with the old stock stuff on? Its not burning it up really fast but it is noticeably burning up the gas faster. |

An air intake or Cold Air Intake (CAI) as they are sometimes called is simply designed to move the air intake location to a cooler part of the car. It does not affect how "fast" the air/fuel mixture will ignite. However, alot of aftermarket intakes produce a louder "growl" when at Wide Open Throttle that is rather noticeable and just generally sounds kewler than the factory intake setup. Due to this alot of people simply can't resist the urge to bury the pedal at every opportunity to get that loud "growl" sound from under their hood... of course, this will lead you to worse gas mileage and the notion that the gas is "burning up really fast". That doesn't sound right at all, cause i just took an hour and a half drive and it ate up more gas then it usually does with this car and that trip, and i wasn't punching it the whole way. Or even driving really fast.

It might not sound right to you but he is actually 100% correct...other than the gunning it more...that varies per person...
Some cars burn more gas when running cooler than normal...it has to do with the cars computer....not saying that this is whats happening to you but when I changed the thermostat in my Jeep to a 160 degree one I lost a noticeable amount of gas mileage. I changed back to 190 and it went back to normal... |

Well, if you are noticing a loss in gas mileage, you should look for the actual culprit. See if you are throwing any codes, also check your O2 sensors (typically the upstream is the one that matters most, however that may be different on Honda's).
Also, if your interested... check out How Stuff Works for more info on the basics of engine operation. L8R, |

A loss in gas milage from a cold-air intake? I call ****.
If anything, it should make your ride run better. |

Well when we decided to put the intake in we had to remove a bunch of stuff and we found some type of sensor and it had a twisty knob on it and my bro keep playing with it. I guess i will ahve to find out what that knob is.
