From the looks of the pick, its looks like you smoken form all four wheels which looks pretty fishy but i don't know luminas very well so inlighten me if it is four wheel drive or the smoke isn't lifting up like it should.

Only FWD...the smoke is from the front tires. Thats just the smoke flowing from front to back that makes it look like all 4.

Define your idea of a burnout. Was your foot ever making contact with the brake while the burnout was going on?

Luminas are FWD only.

A burnout is when the tires go up in smoke....regardless of wether your braking or not. If you use the brakes its called power braking.

I bet you this Lumina can do a better burnout...

He makes it sound like no other Lumina can do that. Anyone can make a cloud of smoke when it comes to power braking. I could take a Geo Metro and melt the tires if I power braked.

To clear things up - the proper way to do a burnout in an FWD car is with the e-brake pulled.

Can't power brake when your front wheels are what's being kept from moving icon_smile.gif

My tires cost over $200 per tire (use to be $180) and I still light'em up once in a while. Most of the times when it is wet or I'm on gravel my tires spin by accident. icon_lol.gif

What I meant when I said catch me as in trying to moneuver and keep up without flipping. I like to loose people all the time, just by out moneuvering them. Its not all about speed, its also about control. for mw my car is plenty fast and I can still have a funn with a car thats not faster then every ricer out there. Sorry I'm not an avid speeder but I do like to mess around with people. You cutting from center lane on the highway to the exit ramp just at the nik of time. You maybe faster but what good will that do you if your trying to FOLLOW me.

When I floor it I can feel that the car wants to peel out, but the tires grip too quickly. But when the roads are wet, its big tires peel out time. icon_biggrin.gif I've fishtailed on accident a couple times when its wet.

I've never tried power braking or any other shenanigans.

Now the Monte SS is a whole different story in the peeling out category. icon_cool.gif

Well from your gallery I can only see you have is a Ford Escort, so what are you talking about a subaru. Anyways if you haven't figured it out yet a Honda can last forever if taken care of better than the average teenager can.

well... i've gone into the heritage of the Escort on here before, so i'll be brief this time. it was originally designed under the title "World Car" in the early 80s to be used in rally racing. the rally heritage has lived on in the Escort ever since (although i personally don't think the ZX2 is very rally-like). this brings me to my point about Subaru (another well known rally company). obviously their AWD suspensions are known for their excellent handling. which is what i meant by "an Accord, not a Subaru" because i'm willing to bet that just about any of the Subaru models could out maneuver Accords, IMO. oh, and your last statement about how Hondas can last forever if taken care of, has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with this discussion. quit trying to change the subject icon_rolleyes.gif

This goes out to the statement about subarus menuvering better than accords. Ok accords are pretty heavy cars compared to the civic and they are also not meant to be raced (streetracing) like civics tend to be. Accords handle very well for what they are - I should know I drive one. As for the subarus(wrx) well they actually arent that great at handling, they stay on the road and are easy to conrol but when u try to take a corner at high speeds(without the ass end sliding out) they dont match up to the cars that they are compared againts by many people. sleeping.gif

But ya know maybe im wrong, and driving/streetracing both of these cars I totally drove them wrong.... who knows the above statement is experience and some is info i gathered.

my point in the whole Subaru verse Accord part was that most STOCK Subarus could out maneuver (better handling) most STOCK Accords. now granted, maneuverability and handling is somewhat dependant on the driver and road conditions as well, but if it were the same driver in both cars, chances are he/she would do better in the Subaru (i'm using the Impreza as my representation of Subaru, WRX or not)...
