points off for neons?

ok i was at the streetglow message forum and someone said that they had 3 points taken off their license for having neons on. how is that possible if it is possible? it doesn't seem like a moving violation.

depends on the state, and probably the area within the state. i'm sure they could come up with some **** excuse to take off points, like "impersonating a police vehicle" or distracting other drivers or some crap like that.

Depends on the circumstances of the situation.... However, just KNOW your local laws (you may want to keep a printed copy of them in your glove box), don't break any of them and you should be fine. Also, don't expect the police officer to actually know all the laws either. If a discrepancy comes up between the actual law and what the police officer is telling you, *politely* show them the printed laws and inform them of the actual law.
