I started riding with all my lights on purposely, on a friday night to start turnng heads. I could hear some people that I pulled up to telling others to look... LMAO
so when it got really dark, I decided to test the 'Street Wise' Mode of the UFO kit and turn off all other LEDs StreetWise  white to the front, amber to the sides, and red to the rear so i ride around to see if i will get pulled over (b/c it is habitual for me) I ride around for about 15minutes and passed at least three city officers and I seen them looking but I believe they were answering a call. I role passed one station and as I get passed the station, a Sheriff roles up behind me. So, he rides behind me for about two miles, then he gets into the right lane and roles up to my quarter panel and drops back then gets behind me again. He then hits the lights so I pull over. I am already smiling b/c I know the law. He comes up (overweight, male in about his late 40s or early 50s) So he asks, do you have License and Registration, "YUP" "Proof of Insurance" "Yup, it is in my console" (I hold one hand up while i reach in center console b/c EVERY TIME, they have their hand on their gun when I go for my stuff. "Any warrants" "Nope" "Do you know it is illegal to have anything other than white over your tag" (of course I knew that) "Naaaaa, I figured it was o.k. b/c I got them from autozone" (really got them from online and they are bright as all outdoors; same used in map lights) "No sir, you have to have white over your tail......(skip some stuff to get to the good part)....... While I have you pulled over, what's up with these lights under the car" "Well, according to the Department of Transportation, I am o.k. White to the front, amber to the sides, and red to the rear" (as i say this, he smiles, knods yes, and keeps looking underneath) "I have not seen these types of lights in a while" "I know and That is why I did them that way" "I will be right back" (he runs plates, normal routine) "Thank you Sir and please get that light replaced." "I will, and thank you" (UFO BABY!, as he walks off) What really makes me mad, I get pulled over as if it is part of their religion, they praise the car talking about I got it hooked up, then they give me a ticket. |

Yes, many states (including Florida) have a law that states your license plate must be lit by a WHITE light ONLY. If his license plate was illuminated with any other color, then it's a ticket. Typically, its only a "fix-it" ticket tho... so, all you have to do is change it back to a white light and get it inspected and the ticket is waived. L8R, |

In Texas you can't have anythign covering any part of your license plate and the whole entire work "Texas" has to be visible. Reall weird stuff.

Wow, it great to hear that the cop was satisfied with streetwise mode. All the hard work finally pays off! In over a year now nobody that I have heard of has been given a ticket for running with these colors
